How often does the club meet?
The USC High School Neuroscience Journal Club meets on a biweekly basis on Zoom. The full calendar will be set after the application deadline.
What is the schedule like?
The High School Neuroscience Journal Club will have meetings every two weeks over the summer, starting in Late May and ending in Early August. Then from August to September, each member will be given the opportunity to create their own capstone project.
How do I become a member?
To participate in the USC High School Neuroscience Journal Club, you must first become a member. Membership is open to all high school students who have an interest in neuroscience. Sign up today through the google form link in the "Home" page to become a part of our community!
Do I need research experience or neuroscience knowledge?
No not at all. The journal club is looking to help students build that experience and knowledge through the meetings.
What topics are discussed?

Will this help me get a research position in the future?
Absolutely! By demonstrating skills in analysis and reading of neuroscience literature you will learn how to find gaps and explore those gaps thru independent research. Furthermore, you can also use this journal club in building your portfolio when asking for research positions from professors.
How long will the journal club last for?
The goal of this club is to explore scientific literature over the summer and have a capstone project be done from August-September. The club will end by late September.
Will there be research positions in this journal club?
Yes. After the first year, we will be looking for members who displayed effort, passion, and consistency to lead meetings for the future.
